Rythm began as a group of friends playing video games together, sharing a passion for music and a desire to share that passion with others.
What started as a side project in 2016 to fill the need for shared music listening quickly grew into something much bigger. Rythm fostered a global community of over 30 million music listeners and fans who shared the same need.
On September 15, 2021, Rythm shut down after receiving a notice from YouTube. An entire community of users was left without a good solution for listening to music with their friends.
We knew this couldn't be the end. Thanks to the incredible support from the community, we spent the next two years building, acquiring music licenses, and creating the future of Rythm. Now, in 2024, Rythm is officially back with the experience we all know and love, along with many improvements. Thanks to our partnerships with the world's top music companies, Rythm now compensates artists for every stream.
Rythm's mission is to build a global community of music fans and create new, shared music listening experiences. We all know how amazing it is to share your favorite song with a friend, or listen to a new album together. This is just the beginning.
